Sadly, Eric Allen, brother of Pinelanders
member Barry Allen, was among the NYC firefighters lost at the World
Trade Center. Our condolences go to Barry, Lorraine and Peter
and their family in this time of tragic loss.
We also received this message from Greg Liang.
Our sincerest condolences to the Liang family, and especially to
Jennifer and to Kevin's family.
I am sure there are probably other families
within our Pinelanders community who have lost loved ones or
family members from Sept.11th, like our family, for one.
Matthew and Christopher Liang's sister, Jennifer, is married to Kevin
Bracken, Engine 40-Ladder 35, NYC Fire Dept, who is missing
along with 10 others from his company, among the first to respond
at the WTC. There are so many! Every one of us has
been affected in some way and cannot help but being touched by the
thousands of tragic stories of loss. To not be affected
would make us inhuman or unfeeling. We are all heart-broken
for my daughter and Kevin's family. We are left to cherish
the memories of those who perished, and we pray for the living for
the strength to carry on. God bless us all!

Donations
Many thanks for all the donations that were made
at our fields - we raised $614 in monetary donations for
the September 11 fund, plus some material contributions. The
Club raised the amount to $1,000, and a check was sent
to the September 11 fund, care of the United Way. |
